Interesting article. Nice to read your work again. Twitter is a cesspool so I understand why people leave or don't go on there as much but I miss your threads lol.
Not to be picky but… Superman wasn’t born Superman- he was born Kal-El, lost that identity into being assimilated as Clark Kent, and then in an attempt to return to his roots found a new identity that integrated the two and became Superman. Superman is still him hiding. In contrast, Bruce Wayne was born Bruce Wayne - but then experienced tragedy and became Batman. He fakes his personality as Bruce to the public so no one guesses he is really Batman. He is Batman. Superman is about reclaiming a lost identity. Batman is about how people change in response to tragedy.
Interesting observations, but I don’t see what “Trumpian politics“ has to do with anything. This latest round of antisemitism came about under Biden. And Trump is doing a lot to support Israel and to fight antisemitism.
This is a totally reactionary and mis informed article. Jews were anti or non Zionist up to 1938. So it was the propaganda during WWII To save the Holocaust survivors ( which Israel didn’t particularly like) providing the impetuous to create a state, involving the massacre and transfer of Palestinians. There was just a conference of the Halachic left religious many are not Zionist. Of course there is going to be antisemitism on the left which we must fight. The main thing is solidarity against colonization and genocide in Gaza. Our strength is in solidarity with oppressed people. Some of us assimilates some not so much all Jewish
Thank you for writing. Now I want to reread The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay for the Jewishness of it all, except Michael Chabon has become an apologetic As-a-Jew.
The success of Jewish culture and life in America says less about the Jewish people and more about the exceptional brilliance of the USA democracy. ( let’s just hope it lasts)
Maybe you need a refresher course in Zionism. The majority of Jews were not Zionist before 1938. Being Jewish does not need a prerequisite to bring Zionist. To say it does is antisemitic. Many Jewish people particularly younger are increasing observant and not Zionist. There’s even a left orthodox group that’s not Zionist.
Sure, we can write boring articles about left antisemitism which is rude, or you could actually be concerned about right antisemitism, which has political power behind it.

Lol yea I finally decided to leave after the election. I still have my account, so maybe I’ll come back at some point.
Thank you for reading! Hoping to write some more when I can
